To qualify for Nursing Home Medicaid (MassHealth in Massachusetts) in 2026, a single applicant must meet the following criteria: one, contribute nearly all of their monthly income toward care costs; two, have assets under $2,000 (the home is usually exempt); and three, require nursing home-level care.
